Support the Labrador Retriever as Minnesota's Official State Dog
Pawsitivity is partnering with the Minnesota Legislature to pass a new bill naming the Labrador Retriever as Minnesota’s Official State Dog. Proceeds from merchandise sales that promote the bill will help fund Pawsitivity‘s mission of rescuing dogs and training them as Service Dogs for individuals with disabilities.
The Labrador Retriever is the perfect embodiment of all that is great about the State of Minnesota. A large, diverse, water-rich state that loves the outdoors, exercise, and playing well with others needs a dog that exemplifies its best attributes. The Labrador Retriever is just that.
The Labrador Retriever is indigenous to North America and comes in three colors, yellow, chocolate and black. They have a weatherproof coat (perfect for all Minnesota seasons!) and are the top ranked dog by the American Kennel Club for popularity with families. There's no available objective data on their cuteness, but we can all agree that Labs score off the charts.
Did you know that Minnesota doesn't have a State Dog? We want to change that. Legislation is currently moving through the Capitol to make the Labrador Retriever Minnesota's official State Dog. Raven, a famous Minnesota canine-lebrity, is our campaign's State Dog inspiration and official ambassadog. Throughout the state, Minnesotans have come to know and love Raven from her many adventures alongside Ron Schara on Minnesota Bound. Raven (and Ron) retired from Minnesota Bound last summer after more than 20 years exploring the outdoors with viewers.
Whether running around a lake, hunting up north, or curling up with family and friends around a warm fire, you'll find a Lab to be a loyal and sweet companion. We hope you'll join us in our quest to make the Labrador Retriever Minnesota's State Dog.
